I'd sure like to buy a doe from you someday!Pattyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18153751759157433693noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21054991.post-17881186480401357232012-08-31T21:37:46.624-05:002012-08-31T21:37:46.624-05:00Laura - We let all of the does raise their own kid...Laura - We let all of the does raise their own kids, and we never wean doelings that we are keeping. However, bucks have to be taken away before they reach sexual maturity, and we have to sell most of the kids. So, I still wind up with quite a bit of milking to be done.Deborah Niemannhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10754242197245805551noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21054991.post-87822750939828359592012-08-30T02:13:02.818-05:002012-08-30T02:13:02.818-05:00It's always difficult to let something you lov...It's always difficult to let something you love go even when you know that it has to go. Or to give up something because you no longer have the quality time to devote to it. And yet you love it still. I understand the conflict. I had to trim down my goat heard numbers to a more manageable three last year....then I got a Boer female so now I'm back to four. But I guess it beats the 14 we had at one time. And I'm not even as particular about them as you are :)

I don't really have any helping hands for daily barn chores, so it's all me now. Does that mean when DD (3 1/2 yo) gets a bit older I can get MORE livestock again since I'll have her to help! :)Carolynhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14436557172029575513noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-21054991.post-90852740924369431312012-08-28T14:27:15.893-05:002012-08-28T14:27:15.893-05:00I hear you about the goats. When I get a great tri-colored kid I just have to keep him/her to see what other color combinations I can create. Last I promised myself I would cut down on thw nigerians b/c the Nubians give much more milk. Everyday I chose one thing to do and do it thoroughly but other things get the so-so treatment! My house hasn't been 100% clean in forever, I have a constant list of things I really want to do that never get done because of all the things I have to do. Oh well one day things will all run a little smoother, hopefully :/Kellyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12326069783582536184noreply@blogger.com
