The well-bred kid

Introducing Eleanor and her little sister (and I do mean little). The first step in having well-bred kids is to give them proper names. Eleanor was named after Eleanor Roosevelt because she possesses the same forthright personality as the former first lady (and because all of Bonnie Parker's kids have a Great Depression theme). We still need to come up with a good name for the little sister. I keep thinking Bess Truman, but the Depression was technically over by the time Truman was in office.

A good breakfast is essential for a well-bred kid. Nothing but fresh-from-the-udder goat milk is good enough.
And then they need to play.
Of course, kids today need the best education, so you'll have to get plenty of good books. (Animorphs in the background here.)
And all kids today need computers. Eleanor is checking out her laptop.
They need a place to play when Mom can't keep an eye on them every minute.
And of course, they need a nice bed so they can take naps and get a good night's rest!

Any plans on names for them, or is that a no no- I would become attached and want to name one, heck hubby get ready I am bringing one home, lol! Goat Cheese here I come!

All the girls get named, because they'll be registered. I don't name the boys that will be castrated and sold as pets. All the does have themes for their children so I can keep straight who's who and who belongs to whom. Bonnie Parker is the mom, so these girls have a Great Depression theme. The bigger girl is Eleanor Roosevelt. Still working on something for the little one.

How about Greta Garbo, Betty Davis, Joan Crawford, Myrna Loy, actresses then, or Willa Cather and Pearl S. Buck, authors then? Good luck with the name. ;0)

I love those names, but I'm going to save them for Ethel Merman's kids (actresses) and Sherri's kids (authors). I especially love Pearl Buck for a doe. LOL! It has to be a goat that I'm not keeping though, because I already have a Pearl here.

The tiny baby is *really* tiny. I had no idea that they could be so small. They're both so adorable. When will they be able to go out with the other goats? Since they were bottle fed, will their mama look after them when they're in the nursery pen and protect? I'm learning so much just reading your great posts.

Genny, they'll be going out to the barn tomorrow. I doubt their mother will remember them. She seemed quite overwhelmed with four kids in front of her after she'd given birth. Once I removed two of them, she seemed calmer and more focused. The mamas don't really need to do much to protect them from the other mamas. Initially most kids make a few mistakes and get butted away by the other mamas, but after a week or two, all the kids are climbing all over all the mamas, and the mamas have this look of resignation on their faces. It's so fun to watch!

I have that same look of resignation sometimes. haha. And sometimes I really have fun frolicking with my kids. :)

It's funny how animals are so different from people, and yet they aren't....
