Tomato brag!

Yes, that tomato weighs two pounds! It's the biggest tomato we've ever grown here, and the interesting thing is that all the tomatoes on that plant are that big. There are four other "white giant" tomato plants, but the fruit on those plants all weigh about a pound. I'm thinking someone spilled the chicken manure where this one was planted.

These tomatoes make a delicious cream of tomato soup. I'll have to post the recipe and a picture next time Katherine makes it. Heirloom tomato soup is one of her specialties.

I hate you. ;) heehee. No, not really but my goodness that looks SO delicious. Nice job.

Now I want sliced tomatoes with a sprinkle of sugar on them. Just like when I was a girl at my Grandma's home. Sigh.

Wow that's a big one...I don't think any of ours are even close to being that big.

OMG! Do you have something in your water? ;-) A friend of mine over here was bragging about her 400 gram tomatos. And thats not even a pund! Good job!

How jealous! The late blight hit very hard here...most farmers lost all their tomatoes, regardless of size! Forget even mentioning the weather...

I am so jealous. I had early success with tomatoes this year, but they petered out fast and never did taste all that great. I'm looking for some heirloom varieties next year.
